PLUM Silly

Tonight Austin and Heath were in the bath reaking water havic as usual. They had forgotten to eat the plums Heath had found in my purse, that were supposed to be the snack my friend brought for us while we were shopping. (we opted for chocolate covered raisins instead). Since they were already clean, I let them eat them in the tub. I know, no food in the bathroom, but the water was clean and they loved it. Eating in the tub is so cool when you are a kid. Who knew eating fruit was so fun and funny.

A penny saved

So, today Heath was in school, and I went to the store for milk, and deodorant, and something else, (but, I seem to have forgotten what it was). But, I am very sure it was important. What I thought would be a quick trip in with one child, soon was distracted by the doughnut that Austin had to have. I then got home with the milk, and deodorant, and forgot the other thing. As I was unloading the milk, the plastic bag carrying the milk ripped, sending the milk rolling down the driveway spilling out as it went. I was so disgusted, mad, and sweaty, (hence the need for deodorant). But, as they say don't cry over spilled milk, *eyeroll*, so back to the store, where I forgot the 3rd thing (which I might remember soon) and more milk. While I was there, I noticed the cake mixes that were marked down from 1.50 to 20 cents, cake for 20 cents what a steal, being the cake lover I am I bought 4. Four cakes to eat for 80 cents. I had hit the jack pot. But, to go with the cake I had to by frosting, ice cream, and then for some reason I needed cones. So, $6.90 later, I have saved no money. So, four hundred pennies saved is 6 dollars spent. Oh well. LET US EAT CAKE!!!

4th of July Parade

I have to start out by saying how much I love the Fourth of July. I love everything patriotic about it. I love picnics, the beach, families, fun, fireworks, watermelon, parades. Especially parades. The parade where we live is a tradition we have had in our family since the early 80's. It has changed so little since I was young. Mom and Dad would take me to the bike decorating and fishing contests. We would sit in lawn chairs and wait for all the floats. The location and floats have changed, but the patriotic spirit in our community has not. What a great wholesome family activity. People lining the street to watch the parade and collect candy. The kids had a great time, dancing, singing, waving and eating treats. It is great to see friends and neighbors out in the heat, celebrating the fourth of July. I love exposing my kids to the same memories and traditions of my youth. We had a great time, and the kids were so happy celebrating the freedoms of our country. God Bless the USA.

Tooth Tales

Heath lost his first tooth, or should I say teeth. He had two very loose teeth hanging by a string for days. He would wiggle them and wiggle them. He lost one Sunday night while he slept and we never found it. But, he lost the other Mon morning. The Tooth fairy brought him 2 dollars and a pack of starburst. I guess the going rate for teeth?? Any hints?? He was very excited. We are happy not to have to look at the snaggle tooth. Heath is growing up!!

Do you live in a sweaty city?

So, as you know I love stupid random things, such as DO YOU LIVE IN A SWEATY CITY? Found out today, that we live in the 7th sweatiest city in America. I know, how can that be right? For the love of deodorant, can anywhere be sweatier than Houston in the summer? But, it is true we are number 7. There are 6 citites sweatier than we are. YES!! So, I deserve no sympathy when I came back from my 7 a.m. walk glistening. But, I was sad to learn that in the #1 city, PHOENIX residents are sweating our 26.4 ounces per hour of good old American sweat. That is the equivalent of 2 full soda can per day just by living there. Holy sweat glands that is amazing. So, I decided to take that number and divide by seven. According to this data, (I am such the science girl, look out scientific method) we sweat out 3.77 ounces per day. That is the equivalent of well just some sweaty arm pits. I am convinced that if I lived there I would be 2 soda cans thinner, today. Go Phoenix you hot dogs!! Here's to the heat!!

The backyard

Ok, I know who cares about the back of the house. But, that is the best part!! The pics do not do justice, but I thought a little sneak peak was fun anyway. You will all just have to come and see for yourselves. We love the birdbath. NO birds yet!! and all the trees. Just thought you might enjoy.

LA CASA JACKSON

SOLD!!!! We have officially purchased and moved into our first home. It is so exciting, to spite the fact that getting to this point, ie.. looking, loans, paperwork, faxes, copies, and handing over all but my second grade report card, oh wait did I make a copy of that, no wait, it was a fax, just kidding and a copy, packing and moving, are not glamarous events. I for one was not impressed with that part, but the moving in, and loving our new first home is much more fun. We bought a house in MB and will get to stay in the same church ward, very exciting. It is a 2 story on a great street and we are stoked to make it ours. We have first started with the yard. Whew!! what a yard it is. I told Sonny, we could go into the plant business and make a fortune. It is amazing, overwhelming, and awesome all at the same time. I counted 40 different types of plants and flowers. We have enjoyed doing the yard so much more, when it is our house. We look forward to raising our family in this home and making memories. OH, and changing the light fixtures. We would like to thank all of those that helped make this happen We are greatful for the support our parents have given us on this adventure. We love you guys. We feel very at home here.
