Wreath-do

A holiday wreath redo, it was destroyed in a fit of anger, by one naughty red head last month. I gathered it all up from the sidewalk and stuck everything back in and super haphazardly to boot and I have a Texas size fall wreathdo. :) Happy Fall Ya'll!!

GORDgeous

Ok, So I am not over the book page decor look (remember the wreath from Oct 1 post) I decided to spruce up one of my nonflattering gords with an nontradtional, nonexpensive, and nonpinterest (I think) idea. (like all my non's) My house is gray,black and white with pops of color here and there. When I get out the orange and black it sticks out and looks funny, like I tried to hard, and bothers me. So I decided to make a change this year, who says you have to have black and orange anyway. So I got a divorce from the traditional Halloween colors and went "retroween" this year

First you need an old book (The Black Shadow (very appopriate) .83 cents from a thrift store) Paint Brush, Gord, Modge Podge

Next, an old gord, (mine looks, chewed up, spit out and booed off stage)

Next, paint the glue all over the pumpkin and cover with pages of book, working with thinner stripes worked better. Rub it all down, no rough edges. It will appear gooey, it will dry clear.

Last, let it dry REALLY well.

Enjoy and thank people for the compliments. I love mine.

feeding frenzy

The after school rush, is never easy, neither is filling all those little boy bellies. Trying to come up with something new everyday. AHHHHHH!! Today Aus waited for Heath, Conner didn't nap (BOO!!)and all three had a snack together, they feasted on avacados, nachos and green peppers with ranch dip. Every one was happy and hungry. I am always on the lookout for healthly, interesting snacks to feed the chickies. Looks like today it was a hit! What are you fixin' for your famished folks?????

Office Depot

We don't have a designated office space in this house (insert sad face), something I thought I would never need. Never say never. So, truth is we (I) need one. We do however have a formal living room. Who does formal things in a living room anyway, waste of space, sorta.... We decided we could multi-task the space. We took an old sofa table from a friends garage. It serves as a perfect work desk for the computer, it has lots of light from the living room and whala..... An office is born!! We spend lots of time here, and the kids love the big comfy white (I know) sectional.

It's October.... The first day of my favorite month, I have a birthday boy, halloween fun and candy. The weather is cooling off and getting so pretty here. I have given my self a new challenge of getting my house in order, for my boys, husband and to better our family. I am pretty organized, but I want more time, less stress and to enjoy our home. SO......... To keep me on the right track,after all I get distracted by Law and Order episodes, or FaceBook, or just utter avoidance and a busy life. I am going to post 31 days of Jackson's home, life, organization and projects. The first of the month and a new season is a great month to start, and this goal/project could be scary, so Halloween time seemed appopriae, so here goes. Happy Haunting friends!!!
